“I am always going to battle weight,” she says. “That’s just the way it is. That’s also why this is so important to me. It’s not even a diet. It’s a way of life. And you have to keep it fun and interesting.”

Carrie is known around the Southgate Clinic as the person to go to for new recipes. She often shares her own customized recipes right here on our website. Carrie’s Creamy Chicken Pasta with Mushroom Sauce is one example of a warm, filling winter dish that tastes decadent. “I try to get creative with things so no one gets bored,” she says. “It keeps it interesting so you don’t think ‘I gotta eat the same food all the time. ‘“

It’s not uncommon to hear a patient admit that it is tough to give up coffee creamer. Carrie found a great hack.
